Historic Preservation Commission
The Anchorage Historic Preservation Commission was established by the City of Anchorage to oversee the regulation of changes to landmarks and property in the Anchorage Historic Preservation District. The Commission also can designate future landmarks within the City of Anchorage.
Members of the Commission are appointed by the Mayor and approved by the City Council. The members serve without compensation. All members have demonstrated interest in historic preservation. At least two members must have training or experience in a preservation-related profession such as architecture, history, archeology, architectural history, planning or a related field and one member must be active in real estate.
The Commission will hold a public meeting every third Tuesday of the month at 6:00 p.m. at the Anchorage City Hall. Note: some months may have Special meetings.
